There is no let up in the incidents of hurling of shoes on politicians in Pakistan as a shoe hit Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Aleem Khan when he was standing alongside party chairman Imran Khan in industrial city  of Gujrat  on Tuesday evening.

The incident took place during a public gathering of PTI workers  where Imran was whipping up support for the party’s ongoing membership campaign.

The PTI chief had just turned to face a different direction when the show came flying in, hitting Aleem squarely on the chest. A staff member immediately came in front of the PTI leader to cover him, according to media reports.

Minutes after the incident, Imran Khan ended his speech and left the makeshift stage.

Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was hit by a shoe on Sunday while addressing a meeting at a seminary  in eastern city of Lahore. All the three persons accused of throwing shoe have been arrested and sent on judicial remand.

Earlier, Pakistan’s foreign minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif experienced an ink attack on Saturday. Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal faced a shoe attack a week ago.

Leaders of Pakistan’s ruling and opposition parties have condemned the shoe attacks , terming these as acts of intolerance.
