Nelson Mandela’s grandson arrives in Pakistan

Zwelivelile Mandla Mandela, the grandson of the late anti-apartheid hero and former South African president Nelson Mandela, has arrived in Pakistan’s eastern city, Lahore .
Mandla, 43, a member parliament of South Africa, is on a visit to Pakistan on the invitation of Dr Tahirul Qadri, the head of the Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT).
According to PAT representatives, the South African dignitary will attend PAT’s ‘Tajdar-e-Khatam-e-Nabbuwat Conference.
This is Mandla Mandela’s first visit to Pakistan after he accepted Islam about two years ago
Speaking to media at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal Airport, he said: “I am very happy to come here. I am not here for any political interests, my grandfather also loved Pakistan.”
Before arriving in Pakistan, Mandla Mandela visited Palestine and held meetings with the Palestinian authorities including President Mahmoud Abbas.
According to Palestinian Embassy in Islamabad, Mandela also visited the Holy Towns of Bethlehem and Jerusalem, both located in the occupied Palestinian West Bank, as well as the mausoleum of Yasser Arafat in Ramallah.
